Peace, Salaam, Shalom

Soon, I'll be going to the West Bank in Israel, into the Palestinian Occupied Territories, for three months as an Ecumenical Accompanier (EA) with the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (www.eappi.org or www.eappi-us.org).

I've chosen to call this blog "Peace, Salaam, Shalom" because it brings together the three languages (English, Arabic and Hebrew) that are alive in this area of the world. It also names one of the goals I have and that the EAPPI program has -- to seek ways to live and encourage peace for Palestinians and Israelis.

This post is introductory; I will probably not post again until I'm on my way. On March 13, 2010, I'll be in Washington, D.C. for a few days for training and meeting with various folks in Congress. I (and fellow EA Kathy) leave for Jerusalem (via Tel Aviv) on March 15th for 2 weeks of training before going to my assigned site (as yet unknown).
